King-Anderson Hearings to Wind Up in January.
—The House Ways and Means Committee decided to conclude hearings on the controversial King-Anderson bill perhaps the week of Jan 19.When the hearings were called off in late November because of the assassination of President Kennedy, five of a scheduled nine days of hearings bad been held.A major backer of the legislation, the AFL-CIO, had not yet appeared to testify. In addition, scores of state medical societies and other witnesses remain to be heard.
Water Pollution Control Bill.
