A Textbook of X-Ray Diagnosis

The first two volumes of this reference work have already been reviewed. The third encompasses the remaining subjects not included in the earlier volumes. These are divided into five parts: the central nervous system; the sinuses, mastoids and labyrinth; the bones, joints and soft tissues; the teeth and jaws; the eyes, and finally a section on cineradiography by Reynolds. In the latter is presented an interesting review of this subject by a well known authority. Despite the sixteen authoritative contributors to this volume there are relatively few contradictions. The section on the central nervous system is well done and exhibits considerable detail. The American reader may be astonished at the attention paid to arterio-encephalography in contrast to the rather brief discussion of ruptured intervertebral disk, but aside from this the material is well balanced.
