Bill Introduced.—
H. 21 proposes to require a physician attending a pregnant woman to take or cause to be taken a sample of her blood within fifteen days of the time of the first examination and to submit the sample to an approved laboratory for a standard serologic test for syphilis. All other persons permitted by law to attend pregnant women but not permitted to take blood samples must cause a sample of blood to be taken by a licensed physician.
