In this monograph the author considers the errors which are not infrequently made in the diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of urogenital conditions. The introduction, written by Professor Marion, has as its main theme the fact that "we learn more through our errors than through our successes." The book is filled with urologic wisdom which only a man with a wide practical experience could have acquired. He warns against the indiscriminate routine use of the cystoscope because of the damage which can be caused by it. He reminds the reader that appendectomies have frequently been performed erroneously in cases in which treatment should have been given for ureteral and vesicular inflammation. The value of the book lies quite as much in its repetition of important errors which have been mentioned by other writers as in its presentation of new material.
