Dr. Arthur W. Booth, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the American Medical Association: I regard this conference of secretaries of extreme importance, perhaps next only in importance, to the House of Delegates. That body, of course, expresses the desires of the entire profession, but it is for you to disseminate that desire to the general practitioners throughout the states. It is customary to have a permanent chairman appointed from your body. I will entertain any nominations.Dr. Creighton Barker, New Haven, Conn., was chosen and assumed the chair.
