The second edition of Infectious Disease in the Aging: A Clinical Handbook is well written and comprehensive and covers a wide variety of topics related to infections in older persons. The authors have updated all the chapters from the previous edition as well as added new chapters. The book is intended to be an important resource for diagnosing and managing infections in older adults as well as a reference guide for training and for developing policies and procedures for infection control. It also is intended to enhance the geriatrics knowledge of general practitioners, residents, fellows, and geriatricians in private practice as well as in academic settings. Forty-one individuals affiliated with many universities across the United States and Canada have authored the 31 chapters.
