This volume is an outgrowth of the medical dictionary which is familiar to medical readers. The material, as prepared for the nurse, inclines toward definitions which are less technical than those appearing in the medical publication. There are also definitions of many words so elementary as to be absent from a medical dictionary. A special appendix provides material concerning weights and measures, temperatures, poisons and antidotes, and information concerning the common infectious diseases. The book may be recommended as a useful volume for the nurse who takes her occupation seriously enough to investigate the meanings of words that she does not understand.
