The fourth edition of Abrams' Angiography is a major achievement. The new editor, Stanley Baum, MD, has made extensive changes to this classic text, the most noteworthy being its expansion to include a third volume on the maturing field of interventional radiology. That volume, coedited by Michael J. Pentecost, MD, is the crowning achievement of this work. Over 1000 pages are devoted to a thorough presentation of both vascular and nonvascular interventional radiology. Principles, techniques, and the extensive array of available equipment are well described and illustrated, including the most recent procedures, such as thoracic aortic stent grafting, interventions relating to liver transplantation, and fallopian tube recanalization, to name a few.
