Even over the course of a lifelong practice, it is difficult for a pediatric orthopedic surgeon to master most procedures performed within the field. Furthermore, it can be just as difficult for students of pediatric orthopedic surgery, whether surgeons, pediatricians, fellows, residents, or medical students, to understand the principles of the procedures.
