The fifth edition of the Oxford Textbook of Medicine is an impressive collection comprising 3 large volumes. With an extensive list of authors from around the world, it is one of the leading medical texts in the United Kingdom. It was first published more than 25 years ago, and much like Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine, it covers a broad range of internal medicine topics. It is not only an excellent reference for medical trainees or internal medicine physicians, it also includes insightful commentaries on various humanistic issues related to the practice of medicine.
