To the Editor: There is no doubt in my mind that the Kinsey Institute study1 has no place on the pages of THE JOURNAL. The study in question is a dated report on sexual linguistics within a narrow segment of society. Its findings trivialize and, indeed, politicize this otherwise highly esteemed journal. This study might merit publication in a secondary journal pertaining to sexuality or to the linguistics of sexual law and politics, but never in a prestigious medical journal. This study is not medicine, and it is clear that its publication was meant to be a pseudoscientific comment on the debate that was taking place in Congress.
